Aflatoxin in corn kernels

Fluorescence visualizaion of aflatoxin in corn kernels

Grain suspected of being infected by Aspergillus flavus can be cracked and viewed under a black light. If the inner portion of the grain has a bright green or yellow fluorescence (such as that seen in the kernels at the bottom right), the sample may contain aflatoxin. For more inforamtion, please see the following video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4e1rJ0rrK0
