Transgenic corn plants regenerated in the lab

William's picture

Transgenic corn plants expressing interfering RNA (RNAi) for genes in the Aspergillus aflatoxin biosynthesis pathway are regenerated in laboratory conditions. Individual plants are raised to maturity in greenhouses, and ultimately transgenic lines are tested under laboratory and field conditions to evaluate their resistance to mycotoxin accumulation.
