Project impact extends to Africa with new collaboration

Following the Gordon Research Conference meeting, Monica Aghimien, a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Benin in Benin City, Nigeria, spent four weeks in Dr. Gary Payne’s lab at North Carolina State University. Ms. Aghimien worked on the genetic characterization of Aspergillus section Flavi isolates from Nigeria. Monica is also an implementer in Nigeria for AflaSafe, the biocontrol treatment developed for Aspergillus and aflatoxin control in Africa.
